Lots happening on the sports scene with SCHS. Congratulations to the junior high badminton players who participated in the Regional play downs this week. Anyone finishing in first or second qualified for the South Central Zone Championship in Three Hills on Thursday, May 4. The team defeated Taber on Tuesday by a score of 15-7 and lost on Thursday to Brooks by a score of 15-5. Come on out to the diamond on Saturday, April 29 at 9:00 for a game against Notre Dame. Badgers baseball is back and they have games at home on Friday, April 28 at 1:00 and 4:00 and again on Saturday, April 29 at 1:00 and 4:00. Come on out the booth is open and there will be a 50-50. Good luck to our Senior high badminton players who are travelling to Zones in Okotoks on Saturday, April 29. SCHS is very excited about this new opportunity for our female athletes.

Students did a wonderful job of presenting their projects all around a “dog theme” in the OPS and SCHS Exhibition of Learning. Students in grades K-12 kept revising their work to make a polished product of high quality. Tomorrow, April 27, at our Exhibition of Learning the grade 9 class will be selling dog bandanas and the grade 7, 11 and 12 will be selling dog biscuits . They are looking forward to sharing their projects with the public.

SCHS/OPS students and staff are excited to present their projects all around dogs tomorrow (Thursday, April 27) from 9:30-11:30. Parents, grandparents and community members are welcome to drop in and take in the great work that has happened over the last couple months. Anyone bringing dogs for the “dog walking” please take them around the SCHS building to the north west side. You will find a yellow and blue dog house and be greeted by the students helping with the dog walking. This Exhibition of Learning fits with the “Two Schools, One Book” project that has taken place over the school year. Students in grades 1-12 watched the movie “A Dog’s Purpose” together at OPS today. School Art 2023 On display at the Esplanade in Medicine Hat, from April 15 to June 7, 2023 Public Reception on Sunday, May 7 – 1:00 p.m. Awards Ceremony (in the theatre) – 2:00 p.m. Four Prairie Rose students will be selected to receive the following awards – Lower Elementary (K-3), Upper Elementary (4-6) Junior (7-9) and Senior (10-12). South Central students who have work on display, and who will be eligible for the awards are Jenny Kang, Avery Girletz, Liliia Kunitska, Kaydance Stammers, Jersey Girletz, Kaedyn Botham, Kit Klassen, Zhaira Mabbayad and Emily Morozoff.
