Breakfast Program Report
The breakfast program offers students bagels, toast (whole wheat, white or rye bread), eggo
waffles, chocolate or vanilla milk and bagels. The breakfast program is feeding approximately
55 students per day. A few more students just come for juice or milk and a granola bar.
Costs are as follows: Bagels are $5 for a package of 6 or 5 ($1/bagel). Toast is $3.50 to $5.00
for 17-18 slices ($0.25 per slice). Eggos cost $18 for 76 ($0.24 per Eggo) . Milk costs around
$800 monthly. Cream cheese is $55 for 200 packages. Plates are costing around $10 per day
as we are using 55 plates per day as well as 55 knives. This year students have access to the
breakfast program every day instead of every second day as it was last year. As well this year
our Breakfast budget has been reduced.
In order to save some money and be environmentally responsible we have switched to using
napkins for toast and bagels and are hoping to get corelle plates that can be washed each day.
Instead of the small packages of condiments we will be moving to tubs of margarine and jars of
jam. As our budget allows we will purchase bagels as they are a student favorite but only toast
or waffles may be available at times. We are happy to provide this program to our students as
we know many of them are on the bus very early. Students also like to socialize with their peers
in the morning in Barwacz which makes the program very valuable. If anyone would like to
donate Corelle plates of any size or pattern we would be happy to have them or if you
would like to donate to the Breakfast program, we would welcome that as well.
We thank those of you who have donated toasters.
