We will be having our first School Council meeting virtually on Thursday, October 15th at 7 PM. We’d love to have new members join to represent all students from grades 7 through 12. Topics of discussion will include the school plan, an upcoming PRRD trustee ward review, rebranding South Central (since we are more than a high school now) and recruiting workers for the upcoming Casino on Nov 2nd and 3rd. I will post the meeting link on Thursday. Please join us if you can.

!!!SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY!!! A.V. Rec. Club Scholarship A $300.00 Scholarship from the Acadia Valley & District Rec. Club is available to all ratepayers or residents, and their children, of the MD of Acadia #34. Priority is given to full time, first-year students, persons taking Recreational or Athletic programs, with Agricultural students are next in line. Should first-year students not apply, consideration will be given to second-year students. The The deadline for receiving applications will be December 15th, 2020. The applicant will be chosen at the January 2021 meeting. Applications are to include Name, Address, Phone number, Date of Birth, Parents names, Schools previously attended, a photocopy of proof of attendance, course outline, and why you have chosen this field and how you think you are going to benefit from taking this program. Please forward the application to Yolanda Kuhn at Box 3, Acadia Valley, AB TOJ OAO. Should you have any further questions call Yolanda at 403-664-0582. A committee of 3 executives will choose the scholarship recipient.

Friends of South Central High School has been granted a casino date of Monday November 2 and Tuesday November 3, 2020 and we are looking for volunteers to help. If you can help out with a shift or know of some that can please contact Michelle Volk at 403-664-0519 Funds from the casino help off set extras for our school. Recently we have purchase new volleyball uniforms for the junior high teams, extra lunch tables and scholarships. If you can lend a hand it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance 😀
