Change to the 2020-2021 School Calendar - Holidays in November The start of the 2020-2021 school year has been challenging for everyone. In conversations across the division, we’ve heard that our students, staff and parents are feeling the impact of the new realities that have come with operating under COVID-19 restrictions. We need to be prepared for the long haul with managing this pandemic which also means caring for ourselves so we can all remain healthy. For this reason, the board has made the decision to modify the school year calendar to provide an additional break for families and staff in conjunction with the Remembrance Day holiday. This means that November 11th, 12th and 13th will be holiday days for all students and staff. We hope this provides an opportunity for everyone to relax and decompress. Municipal and school board elections are scheduled in Alberta for the fall of 2021. In Prairie Rose School Division this includes the election of 8 school trustees across 6 electoral wards. The Board of Trustees is currently seeking public input about the electoral boundaries and trustee representation in these wards to determine if changes should be made prior to the next election. Prairie Rose School Division would like to invite members of the school community and the general public who live within the school division boundaries to participate in one of three upcoming virtual community sessions in order to gather stakeholder feedback on the matter.
